The Challenge
Farmers in arid regions needed a digital tool to monitor crop health, coordinate irrigation, and reach buyers — but existing AgriTech solutions were built for temperate climates and ignored local marketplace dynamics.
Our Approach
Wahat Al Sahra (“Oasis of the Desert”) was designed around the realities of desert agriculture: water scarcity, seasonal planting windows, and distributed smallholder farms. We built a Flutter mobile app for field use and a Laravel web portal for cooperative managers.
Key Features
- Satellite-assisted crop health dashboards with alert thresholds
- Smart irrigation scheduling based on soil moisture and weather forecasts
- Farmer-to-buyer marketplace with listing management and order tracking
- Offline-first mobile sync for low-connectivity field zones
- Multilingual UI (Arabic and English) with RTL layout support
Results
The platform onboarded 1,200+ farmers in the pilot region within six months of launch. Irrigation scheduling alone reduced water usage by an estimated 22%, and marketplace listings connected growers directly to regional distributors.
